About us

Portrait of Dr. İsmail Kızılbay

My passion for perfume is, in truth, a continuation of my passion for scent.

Adana's orange groves and its scorching heat have always fascinated me; so has Germany, with its forests and lakes that make you feel reborn and the wonderful smells rising from its bakeries. İzmir, where I spent my university years, offered me flowers, fruits, vegetables and a magnificent sea. Nowhere else can you enjoy a fragrant fig quite like there, where the smell of sand mingles with the warm wind off the sea.

Qatar opened the depths of perfume to me. The perfume heritage accumulated by Arab culture is extraordinary. Every place I travelled and lived in over the years, for my education and my profession, nourished me with its scents and perfumes. Istanbul took its place in my life as a world city where you can enjoy a good perfume, with its cultural richness and a way of life I call a "harmonious chaos".

It was Cappadocia that gave me the desire to draw my own path in perfume, the greatest pleasure and occupation of my life. With its mesmerizing geography, rich history and peaceful atmosphere, Cappadocia was the right place to set out from for a world brand. Its richness guided us and opened its hidden treasures to us. The idea and design of all our perfumes came to life among the silent whispers of that magnificent geography.

Cappo's philosophy

The geography and atmosphere of Cappadocia have shaped my whole life.

Every day I feel how right it was that my husband and I decided, at a young age, to build our future in this landscape. We have made significant investments across the region, and in each of them we have tried to create work that honours this magnificent geography and will endure for future generations.

Our hotel Elika Cave Suites & SPA, which has received numerous international awards, and the museum of artworks born of my husband Yavuz Demir's twenty years of labour are only two of them. In Cappadocia, home to some of the world's most important vineyards, it was inevitable that we would also invest in wine.

Perfume is an especially meaningful project for us at Harga Holding. Working in a field that matches the cultural richness of this region has been a joy for our entire team. As with all our other ventures, I want you to know that in perfume too we will hold to our founding principles and philosophy: respect for cultural and local values, care for the environment and the landscape, and the highest possible standard of service and product.
